Golden Hills

Nestled beneath nature’s canopy in Lexington.

Welcome to Golden Hills

“As good as the best and better than the rest” Originally part of a plantation purchased by Christopher Caughman in the early 1800’s, Golden Hills is a residential community and Championship golf course nestled beneath nature’s canopy in Lexington, South Carolina. In reflection of its history and natural setting, Golden Hills derived its name from what was known for many years as Golden Glow Dairy Farm.

Today Golden Hills spans over 300 acres, from the frontage of Hwy 378 to the banks of Twelve Mile Creek, with towering pines and oaks and rippling lakes and streams flowing throughout. Homesites, located along sweeping roads that preserve the natural beauty of the property, offer vistas of rolling fairways, immaculate greens, sparkling lakes or southern pines and shrubs. The championship golf course was designed to preserve the unique contours of the land, similar to the Scottish St. Andrews, making it a challenging but enjoyable test of golfers shot making ability. Golden Hills also offers families and golf enthusiasts amenities that include a pro shop, locker room, driving range, chipping and putting greens, golfers grill, tennis courts and swimming facilities. Whatever your particular recreational needs, Golden Hills was developed with you in mind.

Golden Hills Golf & Country Club opened its gates, for everyone to enjoy, in 1988. The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by noted golf architect Ron Garl. The course has TifEagle Bermuda grass on all of its greens and yardages are clearly marked throughout the course. With exceptional year round playing conditions, the course remains playable for golfers of all levels of play.

Golden Hills Golf & Country Club has been voted one of the Top 5 Courses in the South Carolina’s Midlands, One Of The Top Played Courses (8 out of 10 rating) in the Midlands by South Carolina Golf Guide and has been voted “Best Golf Course”, consecutive years, by the readers of The State Newspaper and Lexington Life Magazine!

The slogan for the Golden Glow Dairy Farm was “as good as the best and better than the rest”. The owners and staff at Golden Hills have adopted the slogan and work hard to uphold the standard to which it refers. We invite you to experience Golden Hills and all that we proudly have to offer to you.
